Entry Instructions:

  • If a beer cannot be classified within these specialty beer categories, it cannot be submitted to the competition.
  • Porters and Stouts flavored with nuts (hazelnuts, coconut, etc.), chili peppers, chocolate, coffee, etc., belong to category 30A or 30D.
  • You may combine more than two categories, but always specify the base style and, ideally, the specialty categories as well.
  • Do not just write „Pastry Stout“.
  • Always list all added non-standard ingredients (used fruit, vegetables, spices, herbs, unusual malts, unmalted grains, type of smoked malt, etc.) or production processes (Barrel Ageing).
  • If you are worried about misclassifying your beer, just make sure to provide all relevant information about it. We will not deduct points for an incorrect subcategory letter.
  • If you are unsure, please read the relevant section in the BJCP Guidelines.
  • If you are still unsure after that, contact the organizer.
